2025 Competition Theme

Renewable Energy and Sustainable Economy

The 2025 Trade and Entrepreneurship Exhibition Competition challenges students to develop innovative solutions that address Nigeria's energy challenges through renewable sources and promote environmental sustainability for a sustainable economy.

Participants will explore how renewable energy technologies can be applied to solve local problems, create economic opportunities, and contribute to a more sustainable future for Nigeria.

Competition Process

The competition follows a structured process to identify and nurture the most innovative and impactful student projects.

Zonal Eliminations

Schools compete within their educational zones in the FCT. Projects are evaluated based on innovation, practicality, and alignment with the theme.

June 19-30, 2025

Area Council Finals

Winners from each zone advance to their respective Area Council competition, where they refine their projects with mentor guidance.

July 15-30, 2025

Technical Workshops

Qualified teams participate in intensive technical workshops led by industry experts to enhance their projects.

August 1-15, 2025

Grand Finale

The top 7 schools showcase their final projects to a panel of judges, government officials, and the public.

Evaluation Process

Projects are evaluated by a diverse panel of judges including educators, industry experts, government officials, and entrepreneurs based on the following criteria:

Common Questions

Competition FAQs

Any project that addresses the theme of 'Renewable Energy and Sustainable Economy' is eligible. This includes solar and wind energy solutions, waste recycling innovations, water conservation systems, sustainable agricultural techniques, and more.

Each school can register a team of 5 students to participate in the competition. The team should work collaboratively on their project under the guidance of a teacher or mentor.

Initial proposals should be concise (maximum 500 words) but clear, outlining the problem being addressed, the proposed solution, expected impact, and implementation plan. More detailed documentation will be required as teams advance through the competition.

Registration requires payment to be made into the designated bank account, after which the receipt should be sent to the account owner's phone number. Complete registration details will be provided upon initial expression of interest.

Yes, all participating teams receive technical workshops and mentorship. Advancing teams receive additional specialized guidance relevant to their specific projects from our partners including ESTEM, JAN, Solar Energy Innovation Hub, and others.

Students and their schools retain intellectual property rights to their innovations. However, FCT-SEB reserves the right to showcase the projects for promotional purposes with appropriate attribution.
